Tornado

So, this is exciting. Haha. I'm sitting in the tunnels under the Oklahoma City courthouse because a tornado warning came in just as I was finishing getting my cases filed. We've been down here almost a half an hour now and they're saying we'll be down here another 15-20 minutes. I'm a little nervous. I'm not scared, but this is just weird. I've been through tornado warnings before, but never one where I had to actually go underground before. I didn't really have a choice. I was checking through the last of my cases when some guy came on the PA system and said we all had to seek shelter because the tornado was supposed to go through the middle of town. So, they said I had to go with them. So, I'm sitting down here with Nathan and Charles just kinda sitting here. I played Phase 10 for a while, but my mind tends to wander when I play games on my phone, so I decided to write. It's interesting down here. Jill, Nate and I wandered down here through all the tunnels when they were here visiting me. There are lots of little shops and a few restaurants. The strange thing about the tunnels is the lighting system. Some sections have red lights, some have green and some have white. We're all sitting in the red section. I'd be surprised if it wasn't fondly referred to as the Red Light District. Lol. That's what Jill, Nate and I called it. It's fitting. For the color, anyways. Lol.

You know, the thing I'm most worried about is my car. I parked on the 8th floor of the parking garage and that just happens to be the top floor. I like to be in the sun while I unload my car. I'm in a room with no windows all day, so I enjoy every bit of sunshine I can get. I knew there was supposed to be rain today, but I didn't know it was supposed to be bad enough for tornados. I guess that'll teach me to start paying attention to the weather from now on.

Well, they said we could leave, so I'm going to see if they'll unlock the 4th floor so I can get my stuff and get back to the office. I'll finish this when I get home.

Yay! I'm home now! I got all my stuff and got it all dropped off back at work. Thank goodness. The 4th floor supervisor tried to talk me into just leaving it all there until tomorrow morning, but I didn't want to just leave it all there.

Wow. The wind is really going right now. Lilian sent me a text and said it wasn't over yet. It's kinda cool how some of the people from the courthouse texted me to make sure I got home okay. Charles, Lilian and Mandy all asked if I was okay and if I made it home. Makes me feel good that they care enough to do that.

I'm not too nervous about the wind and all the tornado warnings my radio is talking about. Oh, wow. It just said there could be hail the size of baseballs. I'm glad I have car insurance. Lol. I'm pretty sure I'll be okay, though. The wind is starting to calm down a bit. There are some pretty big gusts every now and again, but it's not as strong as it was. I just turned on The Weather Channel to see what's going on. I figure I should check the news to get accurate information instead of just going off my non-existant knowledge of weather. Lol.

They're showing a bunch of demolished houses in Midwest City. Caleb and I lived there when we first moved to Oklahoma. It's East of where I am now. About 20-30 min, I think. They're saying I40 is closed in some parts because of flipped cars. They're also showing video of the actual tornados. The newsman called one of them a multi-vortex tornado. There are multiple tornados in each frame. The news lady said there are two super cells right now. It's kinda scary watching these videos. Tornados are amazing. They are eerily beautiful. Very powerful.
