Writer’s Block Breakthrough?

I keep telling myself I’m going to write at least SOMETHING on here every day, but sometimes time slips away and several days go by. I guess that’s what happens when I’m super busy. lol.

Did you know that writing with a cat that wants to be underneath your hands and trying to lay on the keyboard is a little difficult? So, if there are any typos or this posts before I’m done, blame Sadie.

I do have to say, though, that I had a wonderful epiphany this past Friday. Every day last week just seemed to drag while I was at work, but seemed to shoot by after I got out of work. It was crazy. So by Friday, I was seriously ready to leave work at 10am. lol. I did stay, though, and I’m rather glad I did because partway through the day, while I was working on sending out HUD letters, my mind started wandering. I was trying to listen to Lord of the Rings and it wasn’t keeping my attention very well, so I turned it off and just turned on some music. That usually helps me when I have days like that. About ten minutes later, it was like a dam burst in my mind. I’ve had this story bouncing around my head for a while, but I wasn’t quite sure  how to get it where I wanted it to go. I have the beginning all set out and have character profiles and a general idea of where I want the story to go, but no specific thoughts on the actual journey to that ending.

Friday, though, I found the path. It was so strange, it just came out of nowhere. I was just listening to random songs on the radio and it was like some one just came up and said, “Here, this is what your story is about and this is how you get it there.” It was pretty awesome.

So, I took a few minutes and wrote down some fragments of ideas that popped into my head. I think it will be a pretty good story. I’m so very excited about it. You have no idea. The best part is that I was able to come up with a story line for three different books. Well, at least a general synopsis for three different books. I need to write an actual outline and go from there.

I’m just so excited. Now all I need is more than a couple of hours a week to work on it. Of course, I need to just use the time I have and go from there, but I can always hope for more time. lol.

Anyways, I need to go finish getting ready for church now, but I just wanted to share my excitement!
