Yeah, I haven’t been doing much writing lately. Here or with my books. When I first found out I wouldn’t be working out here, I was all, “Yes! I’ll have tons of free time to write and get my book finished!” Well, haha, things haven’t quite worked out that way. But now that things are a little more situated, I think I will have more free time. Troy actually emailed me today and said he thinks I should sit down for half an hour today and just write.
We were talking last night about how I did some research yesterday on train routes and things to do around the city because I want more things to do during the day. He was supposed to bring home printed out copies of the train routes, but the printer at work ran out of ink, so he’s doing that today. I plan on taking those train routes and writing down what activities are around each one. That way I can feel more comfortable with travelling around the city alone.
While we were discussing all this, and some stuff that happened yesterday, Troy started looking up different classes I could take around the area. We found a Malay language class, but it is every Saturday from 10:30-12:30. I don’t really want to give up half of Saturday because that is when he and I go do stuff. All the group hikes are on Saturday mornings, so I wouldn’t be able to do those, either. There were some other classes, but I wasn’t really interested in those. Troy asked what kind of class I wanted to do and I told him I’ve always enjoyed writing classes. I’ve done several over the years and they always respark my drive to write. There aren’t any writing classes here, though, so that was a little disappointing.
So, I should just start writing on my own. That’s what I need to be doing. Now that I’ve got my routine where I’m done with most things around the house before noon, that leaves the entire afternoon. There was one day where I went and wrote a blog by the pool. I enjoyed that. So I think I’m going to start doing that more. I really should do it at least four days a week. Sunshine, fresh air, people. It will be fun. And good for me.
My laptop is almost done charging, so I think I’ll take a quick shower and then run down to the pool. I’m really excited! Not sure that I’m going to get much accomplished, but that’s okay. Even a few sentences is better than nothing.
