I think these towers are pretty neat and look absolutely beautiful at night. The Petronus Towers are billed as one of the ‘must-sees’ of Kuala Lumpur. They aren’t quite so impressive during the day, but they really shine at night. haha.
These towers were designed in 1992 and began being built in 1993, finishing towards the end of 1996. They are 88 floors high and the design was chosen because it bears the hallmarks of Islamic art. An interesting tidbit is that the east tower was built by a South Korean company and the west tower was built by a Japanese company. Two companies were needed to get the building completed before the deadline. Tower two was completed first and made the towers the tallest building in the world for a short time. Taipei 101 supplanted the Petronus in 2004. To date, the Petronus Towers are the tallest twin buildings in the world.
This buildings light up every night. Walking underneath them is really neat because they cast a glow on the ground all the way around the base of the buildings. Match it with the dark night sky and it is a very beautiful scene.
