So, my site broke…………again. Only, this time, my theme became corrupted and my site host had to remove it completely from my blog instead of it just being some super simple fix that restored everything as it was before. This is why my blog looks so drastically different from what it used to. I’d fix it, but I’ve got to leave for the airport in 2 hours to pick Troy up from being in Denver all week (yay!), so I won’t have time to pick a new theme until either this afternoon or tomorrow. Oh well. I was thinking about getting a new theme, anyways.
As for an update on my hard drive: we finally found some recovery software that doesn’t lock up or give error messages after a few hours. It’s been running since midnight last Saturday (almost 7 full days now!) and has scanned 40%. My boyfriend isn’t happy about his computer being on 24/7 to scan my drive (my laptop doesn’t have the processing power – that was part of why programs were locking up), but I guess we’ve got to do what we’ve got to do. Neither of us wants to pay $1,500 to recover my data.
And before anyone shakes their heads and tells me I deserve this for not having backups, that’s what I was in the process of doing when all this happened. I had consolidated everything onto one drive to make a backup much faster and then that drive just died. It was only about 14 months old, too.
So, yeah, I’m not having much luck in the blogging world. Cross your fingers and say some prayers that my drive gets recovered quickly so I can get back to this!
As for the theme, I’m not too worried about it. That’s an easy fix. Just have to pick something out and set it up. No problems, right? haha
