HOW LIFE IS GOING:
Life is going pretty good. It was a mostly up week. Yesterday had some down moments, but not for too long.
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT THE LAST WEEK:
Yesterday when I was having a down moment I messaged Holly about it and told her how I was feeling. About 45 minutes later she showed up at my house with her two little boys to give me hugs and some gifts. She didn’t know that yellow roses are my favorite color of rose or that those little snack packs are my favorite kinds of snacks. She knows I like popcorn, just not what kind, but the popcorn she brought me tastes better than the stuff I usually buy, so I think this is my new favorite. She and her boys wrote/drew sweet messages inside the card and it just melted my heart. They stayed and chatted for a few minutes and it just made me feel so much better. They couldn’t stay long because they’d been at the grocery store and had stuff that needed to get in the fridge, but the fact that she took the time to look for stuff to cheer me up while she was at the store and stopped by when I was having a moment just meant so much. I feel so incredibly blessed to have her and her kids in my life. They’re good friends.
WHAT I DID THIS WEEKEND:
Work and homework. Got to work with my favorite kid yesterday, so that was a highlight. I know we’re not supposed to have favorites and all that, but I have a really good connection with Kid 3. Such a sweet kid.
Other than hanging out with my little buddy, I did homework. Super exciting, I know. 5 more months and I’ll start having a more exciting life.
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO:
Pretty much the same as last week: graduation! 147 days left until I graduate. Pretty excited about that. Still trying to come up with solid plans for a graduation trip, but I’m looking forward to that, too. Anyone wanna donate to my graduation trip fund? haha.
PLANS FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK:
Not much, mostly just work and homework. I have a meeting on Tuesday, but that’s the only anomaly.
WHAT I’M NERVOUS ABOUT:
The meeting on Tuesday. lol. I don’t want to talk about it and jinx anything, so I’m not going to give any details. I’m looking forward to it, but I’m also super nervous about what is going to be said in the meeting. Send lots of good vibes for this. It’s something I really want.
WHAT I’VE BEEN DAYDREAMING ABOUT:
Going on a trip. I’ve been really wanting to go somewhere and explore somewhere new lately. Okay, I feel like that all the time, but it’s been stronger the last few days. Yesterday I was looking up Air BnB’s in London and pricing flights to Asia. I really need to go somewhere.
HOW SCHOOL IS GOING:
Oy. School. There’s so much more homework this term. The first week felt like the term was going to be okay, but this last week was pretty brutal. I went to bed about 2am most days and still had to take a few hours today to finish an assignment. But, I’ve hit all my deadlines, so I guess I can’t complain too much.
For one class, there are no solid deadlines and I am ashamed to admit I haven’t done much in that class. I’m creating a business plan for my blog (my teacher suggested it!) and so far I have explained my brand. lol. Still have to come up with a vision and mission statement, define my brand style, come up with the blog objectives, define my audience, identify my competitors, and come up with a differentiation strategy. Next week I have more to do, so I should really work on getting these things done. This is actually my Senior Project. Gotta make sure it turns out well.
In regards to the business simulation game, I’m in first place! Not really sure how that happened, but I’ll take it! I need to figure out how to get the bonus points cuz those could come in handy sometime. All I did was change settings until all the red was gone, the S/Q rating matched what it was supposed to be, the correct number of product was being shipped, loans were paid off and repurchased with lower interest rates, and I bought back as many stocks as possible. So, I guess that’s how I win the game. lol. This week I adjusting advertising expenditure to maintain market share in different areas (internet and wholesale), increase corporate citizenship programs, bid for celebrity endorsements, and all the same stuff as last week. I hit all my investor expectations, so hopefully I’ll do well again this week. Now that I kinda know what I’m doing, it doesn’t seem so intimidating. My only problem now is strategy. I had to write a paper on my company strategy and just made up a bunch of stuff because I do not have a strategy. I’m just winging this thing. I’m going to play with numbers and make sure my investors are happy and all the red is gone and hope that gets me where I need to be. If they ask me what I’m doing to achieve my results, Imma tell them “I changed a bunch of settings until I liked the numbers.” Cuz that’s what I did. lol
HOW WORK IS GOING:
Work is…………………work. We have a new OM now and she seems really nice. I had my meeting with the remote OM last Monday where I sat down with her, the new OM, and another OM they are training. We discussed my career path and all that fun stuff. The remote OM wants me to apply for administrative coordinator or therapist liaison positions with the company so I can get on the OM path. A supervisor in my office and the corporate therapist liaison and the regional manager and a few people at my clinic have tried to get me to apply for the OM position at my clinic since that’s what my degree is in, but I don’t want to mess up my senior year.
I’m honestly having reservations about staying with the company. I love the kids so much, but right now I’m feeling like I’m ready to be done there. This changes periodically, so who knows how I’ll be feeling in June. I’ve been checking out my options and looking at other companies that more align with what I want out of life. I’m still leaning towards Fast Enterprises and trying to get onto one of their international projects. I guess we’ll see, though. God may have other plans for me and will let me know when the time is right.
HOW EXERCISE IS GOING:
Yeah, I shelved exercising this week. There was so much homework this week and I decided on Thursday that I could relieve some of my stress if I just accepted that I wasn’t going to work out and go from there. So, that’s what I did. I’ve got my three workouts for next week planned out and I’ll do my best to get them in.
WHAT BOOK I’M READING:
I looked at a book, does that count? haha. When I was getting ready to go hang out at the storage unit to oversee all of Troy’s stuff getting packed and loaded on the truck I decided to take a book with me in case I had time to read. I did not have time to read. But I guess that means I have a book picked out to start reading at some point. It’s called Queen Witch.
HOW I DID ON LAST WEEK’S GOALS:
- Fitness & Diet
- Get all three of my workouts in
- Weeeeeell, I did not achieve this goal. Gonna try it again.
- Eat more salads
- Um. I ate one. But I did think about eating salad a few other times………………
- Get all three of my workouts in
- School
- Get a little ahead with homework (haha)
- Nope, but I did get it all done, so I’m counting that as a win.
- Get a little ahead with homework (haha)
- Work
- Follow up on the expert role I applied for
- I talked with the remote OM about it and she said she would see where they are on that
- Run all of Kid 5’s programs during the session
- Had some struggles with Kid 5 this week. Kid 5 wasn’t feeling very good, so running programs was a little bit of a challenge. Got most of them ran both days I had Kid 5, so I feel pretty good about it.
- Follow up on the expert role I applied for
- Personal
- Read at least one chapter of a non-school book
- Uh. Yeah, about this one. lol. I completely forgot this was a goal. Go me.
- Read at least one chapter of a non-school book
- Religious
- Be more consistent at reading my scriptures
- Sheesh. I failed on a lot of stuff this week. Oh well. I guess that just makes it so I already know what I need to work on.
- Read this week’s Come Follow Me chapter
- I did this one! Only because I had to teach it today, but I did read it! I read it earlier this week, I read it Friday, and I read it last night. Hooray!
- Be more consistent at reading my scriptures
GOALS FOR THIS WEEK:
All righty. Gonna stick with most of the same goals from last week until I get them down.
- Fitness & Diet
- Get all three of my workouts in
- Eat more salads
- School
- Get a little ahead with homework
- Work
- Run all of Kid 5’s programs during the session
- Personal
- Read at least one chapter of a non-school book
- Religious
- Be more consistent at reading my scriptures
- Read this week’s Come Follow Me chapter
ISSUES/PROBLEMS/CONCERNS:
My only real concern right now is trying to get stuff for the no-deadline class done. I mean, it has a deadline of the end of the term, but there aren’t really any weekly deadlines. I need to focus on getting that stuff done along with my other deadline homework.
WHAT ELSE IS NEW:
Nothing, actually. This last week was pretty bland. Nothing too crazy, nothing exciting, nothing bad. I’d say that’s a win, as far as weeks go.
So, I guess that’s everything. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
