5-Minute Summary

I was in a funky/blah mood two weeks ago and just did NOT want to do anything blog-related, so I didn’t post anything last week. Because of that, this week’s summary is going to be 10 minutes so I can talk about both weeks. And because, well, I have a lot to talk about.

So, the past two weeks have been alittle nutty. Well, the week of the 19th wasn’t too bad. School started picking up and I was pretty busy, but not overwhelmingly so. I just felt blah all week and didn’t feel like doing anything blog related. The good thing about that week is that I got my Fitbit Charge HR! Yay! It finally arrived! I’m still so freakin excited about it. I got it on the 19th, but couldn’t use it right away. It arrived as I was on my way to my friend’s house to do church visits, so I carried around with me. You know, just in case we got stuck in traffic or something and I could play with it. lol. Didn’t happen, though, and I had to wait a few AGONIZING hours before I could take it out of the box and play with my new toy.

I have to say, that two weeks later, I am still as in love with my Fitbit Charge HR as the day I got it. It has definitely prompted me to work out harder, exercise every day and be more active during the day. I love being able to have all my daily fitness numbers on me at all times so I can see how many steps I’ve taken, how many calories I’ve burned and if I’ve climbed enough stairs. Plus, I LOVE being able to keep track of my heartrate and know when I’m in the optimal calorie/fat burning zones. That helps when I’m exercising at home. I really really really LOVE this thing.

Another thing I loved about that week was spending time with my friends. Rebekah and I go to the gym together 2-3 times a week and it has been pretty fun. I was hesitant about it at first, but I’ve found that I’m more diligent about going when I have someone I pick up on the way there. So, that has been fun. Then, on Friday (the 23rd), I went to lunch at an Indian restaurant with Annalise and Rebekah. Seriously, I thought I would never make friends here, but after being here for over a year, I have two friends! I’m so excited. I love these two. They’re pretty awesome and totally accepting of my wacky “I’m going to talk and and talk”/”I don’t want to talk at all” shifts. Plus, they laugh at my dumb jokes, which makes them pretty darn awesome in my book.

Other than loving my fitness tracker over these past two weeks and having fun with my wonderful friends, I’ve been getting a bit more swamped with homework. Two weeks ago wasn’t too terrible bad, but this past week was a NIGHTMARE! Seriously, I cried every day because I was so stressed and overwhelmed with it all. Mostly it’s math. My math teacher isn’t actually teaching anything, he gave me a textbook and told me to google if I didn’t understand the homework. The bum. I’m trying not to hate him. Just because he isn’t good at his job doesn’t mean I have to fail this class. It’s going to take a lot of extra work to succeed in this class, but I am determined to do everything I can to earn an A. Of course, I got a 76 on my test on Friday, which makes me thing the best I can get is a B, but I’m not going to give up trying to do well. My teacher may not care if I do well and learn these concepts, but I do. And I’ll learn it one way or another. Google is my friend. And so are Vlad and Brooke. Those two are wonderful people who have helped me and I seriously am going to love them for forever.

In other school news, my travel blog has now become worth college credit! I was talking to my advisor about graduation (i graduate on May 8th!) and she said I was 3 credits short and since it’s an elective that I’m missing, she would make my blog worth those credits since it can be termed my job because I make money from it. Not a lot of money, but a few dollars a month. Guess I gotta step up the monetization. I have to spend a documented 15-20 hours a week doing blog-related tasks, which include writing, promoting, pitching to sponsors and applying for affiliate accounts, so it looks like I now have to make time for my blog even when I want to push it to the side when I’m stressed out. Wish me luck. lol

Other than that, not too much has been going on. Just a lot of homework. I was supposed to go to the beach with Troy yesterday, but I had homework and couldn’t. BUT, the homework website was down, so I was able to get the laundry done and the kitchen cleaned up. The bathrooms still need a good scrubbing, but I started feeling super stressed and overwhelmed again, so I took a break and did ‘me’ stuff until the homework website was back up. It was a lovely feeling waking up this morning and knowing that I had a day where I didn’t have to even look at the homework website because I’d already done everything that was due today. Now I can start the week fresh tomorrow and hopefully not get as stressed out. Cuz, really, we’re just about out of chocolate.

How I did on my last goals

  1. Stay caught up with homework It was a struggle, but I have been staying caught up with my classes. Here’s hoping that it stays this way.
  2. Keep on track with my blog – I totally failed on this one. Didn’t post for two weeks. Can’t do that anymore.
  3. Get to the gym three times and increase my weights on Thursday – Yes! I did this two weeks ago! I actually increased half my weights on Wednesday and half on Thursday. Go me!
  4. Eat healthier (this week i did really really bad) – I did well with this for a week. Then last week got crazy. Troy worked late every day last week, so I ordered pizza and at microwave burritos. Bad me.
  5. Get off the computer and read my library book – This didn’t happen until a few days ago. I read some of my book on Thursday, a little yesterday and finished it today. Now I have to go get another one.

This Week’s Goals

  1. Focus on learning my math and not that my teacher isn’t teaching me
  2. Eat at least one healthy thing a day
  3. Write at least two posts, try for three
  4. Walk 10,000 steps per day
  5. Clean the bathrooms
